King of the Fork's Uniforms and Cabra's roots (2026)

Some commissions are about the garment. This one was also about coming home.
Camila here.
King of the Fork is the bike café I co-founded with Paulo Filho back in 2014, in Brazil. So much happened within those walls, and honestly, some of Cabra's roots live there too. Making these uniforms felt a little like coming home for us.
Cycling is what brought us together. After years living in London, I went back to find myself surrounded by a group of friends whose lives revolved around bikes, adventure, and doing things together. That's how I met Paulo, and how I met Dani.
Paulo became a close friend, and his invitation to open a bike café together was a turning point for me - a chance to step away from architecture and explore a different kind of creativity. King of the Fork became a café built for that cycling community, but also for ourselves: a place we'd genuinely want to spend time in. Good coffee, good food, and the everyday moments that happen when people gather around something they love.
Dani helped out with a few shifts when we first opened, back when we were still just friends. Soon we became a couple, and when he started making clothes, many of Cabra's very first customers came from that same community. King of the Fork is also where I learned what it really means to run a business and build something with purpose. Those lessons still guide everything we do at Cabra today. You can see a few glimpses from those early days here.
A few years ago we left Brazil to start a new chapter in Barcelona. But King of the Fork will always hold a very special place in both our hearts. Designing and making these uniforms - by hand, in our workshop - was a reminder that we are part of their journey, and that they are very much part of ours.
Thank you, Paulinho, Vitinho, and everyone who has been part of this story.
We love you guys!

About the piece. For the team we made a denim overshirt - a layer built to work as hard as they do. It's 100% cotton, breathable, and tough enough for long days in the café, and like all our denim it will age beautifully with wear, picking up the marks of each person who wears it. What we love most is seeing the whole team in the same piece, but each one wearing it in their own way.
